The fun starts on February 18 with the Bootheel Harley Davidson Mardi Gras! Join us for drinks, crawfish, motorcycles and girls on skates.

Also coming up (mark your calendars!) is Roller Girl night at the Cape Girardeau Culver’s! Support your local roller girls with dinner and dessert!

– On February 4th (coming up quick!) CGRG takes to the frozen waters of Lake Boutin to freeze for a reason: donating to Special Olympics! Read more about it here and if you haven’t donated in the name of one of our skaters yet, do that here. Can you get us to over $2000 in donations?

– February 6th and 13th are information nights for our new fresh meat class. There’s no commitment on these nights, just lots of information on what it takes to be a roller girl, non-skating official, or ref. Come ready to learn, with a picture ID, and if you’d like to try our skates, bring a mouth guard!

– On February 23, we’re returning to KGMO for a quick interview, so tune in at 6:30 AM!

– JUST ANNOUNCED — We’re adding a date to our schedule, a double header on August 18! Free your schedules, because you won’t want to miss this!

Special Olympics of Missouri is one that’s dear to our hearts. In 2011, CGRG donated funds from a bout to the organization and volunteered at the Olympics here in Cape Girardeau. We want to start 2012 with a bang — or rather, a SPLASH! CGRG is putting together a team of your favorite roller girls to participate in the freezing POLAR PLUNGE. And games… are you ready for another season of fierce action and family-friendly entertainment? Mark your calendars (here’s a link to ours), because CGRG is starting the season with FOUR CGRG vs CGRG scrimmages. The hits are so hard you wouldn’t even guess that these women are friends! Make sure you’re free on March 10, March 31, May 19, and June 9 for these truly epic bouts-to-be.

Starting in July, CGRG takes their skills on the road (and at home with some dates TBA): On July 14, CGRG travels to Marion, IL to battle it out with SIRG! On October 20, CGRG heads to Clarksville, TN to take on the Red River Sirens.

And that’s not all! We’re scheduling some amazing off-skates events, filling in our bout schedule, and working hard to make 2012 the best season of the Cape Girardeau Roller Girls yet! We’re also happy to announce some returning hits:

The third annual CGRG Halloween Party will be held on October 26 — so start thinking of your costume now!

And you demanded it: the thrilling rematch of the Capetown Smackdown: PART III will hit the track on November 10!

Don’t worry, we’ll keep you posted with the details and new dates as they come. We can’t wait for 2012, and we can’t wait to share it with you!

In 2011…

• CGRG raised over $4,000 for charities in the Southeast Missouri area
• CGRG played in 9 games: one double header, two away, and two scrimmages
• 11 players were awarded MVP: Queen Cobra, Skayton Manning, Billie Lux (x2), The Bruise Fairy, Laryn Kill, Grenade O’Connor, Major Hattie Tude (x2), Bust Ya Ash, Sadie Istic, Sylvia Smash and The Woman 2 Blame
• Two classes of fresh meat graduated and joined the ranks of CGRG
• CGRG traveled 1,236 miles round trip to away games
